Gen 1 vs Gen 2: Which Swivel Should I Pick?

The Gen 1 design has a less ergonomic handle, a smaller hole for wiring and the pivot point is not offset. On the plus side, the older generation swivels are substantially thinner than the Gen 2 model — a difference of about 0.5".

So here's the simple way to choose. Pick Gen 2 if you want the better handle, the larger wiring hole and the offset pivot. Pick Gen 1 if seat height matters most and you want the thinner swivel. Remember Gen 1 stock is limited.

Where It Fits in Your Build

A swivel is what makes a small van feel bigger. Turn the passenger seat around and you've got a lounge chair facing your galley or dinette. Doing both front seats? Add the MobiFrame Transit driver side swivel seat. Then plan your layout around it with our van conversion kits and Ford Transit van accessories.

Read the installation instructions and the diagram for your generation before you start. Note the wiring hole size difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 when planning the MobiFrame Transit passenger swivel seat install.
