Mercedes Sprinter Air Conditioner Aluminum Furring Kit
The AVC RIG Sprinter air conditioner furring kit strengthens your van's roofline and gives your rooftop air conditioner the stable foundation it deserves. It's all aluminum and fits most AC units with standard 14" openings (fans too!).
Why Use a Sprinter Air Conditioner Furring Kit
The all-aluminum design bonds securely with polyurethane adhesive* and anchors to your factory roof ribs. That prevents flex and makes sure your foam gasket compresses evenly for a reliable seal. The kit was originally developed for the Velit 2000R.
Choose Your Bay
The Sprinter air conditioner furring kit comes in two versions. Both are 2-piece kits that anchor to the roof ribs, and each one is sized for a different bay.
Front 2-piece S1 is designed for Bay 2 (with the circle factory bump). It measures 23.5" at the rib supports and 17 9/16" support at the roof.
Rear 2-piece S3 is designed for Bay 4 and 5. It measures 25 7/16" at the rib supports and 19 9/16" support at the roof.
Bay designations are for the 144 Sprinter. **Check your 170 or 170 EXT to confirm your bay fit.**
Installation Notes
*Polyurethane adhesive not included. We use 3M 550 in the shop, but any brand will work. Bond each piece of the Sprinter air conditioner furring kit with polyurethane adhesive and anchor it to the roof ribs so the kit holds the AC flat and resists flex.
Measure first. The S1 and S3 kits have different lengths at the rib supports, so knowing which bay your AC goes in tells you which kit to order. If you drive a 170 or 170 EXT, confirm the bay before you buy.
