Ford Transit Air Conditioner Aluminum Furring Kit
Strengthen your van's roofline with the AVC RIG air conditioner aluminum furring kit, built to give your rooftop AC unit the stable foundation it deserves. The all-aluminum design bonds securely with polyurethane adhesive* and anchors to your factory roof ribs, preventing flex and making sure your foam gasket compresses evenly for a reliable seal.
What the Air Conditioner Aluminum Furring Kit Does
A rooftop AC unit sits on a foam gasket. If the roof under it flexes, the gasket can't compress evenly. This kit ties the AC opening into the factory roof ribs, so the AC unit has a solid base and the gasket seals the way it should.
The air conditioner aluminum furring kit was originally developed for the Velit 2000R, and it accommodates most AC units with standard 14" openings.

Installation Notes
The furring is all aluminum. It bonds to the roof with polyurethane adhesive and anchors to the factory roof ribs.
*Polyurethane adhesive not included. We use 3M 550 in the shop, but any brand of polyurethane adhesive will work.
Plan the AC location before your ceiling goes in, so the furring, the roof ribs and the opening all line up. If you are also running furring across the rest of the roof, pair this with our aluminum ceiling furring kit and the Ford Transit van furring kit for the walls.
